What is BeMoved®?
At BeMoved, we are passionate about sharing the joy of dance with people of all movement abilities. BeMoved is an established dance experience designed by Sherry Zunker, the internationally renowned dancer, director and choreographer. With 19 unique dance genres, BeMoved inspires participants to embrace dance as a lifelong path to health, joy and fulfillment. It is our goal to celebrate the diverse beauty of movement while also building a sense of community within our class and company culture. We believe that movement, expressed through dance and music, has a transformative power that enriches a person’s wellbeing above and beyond the well-known physical benefits.
What are BeMoved® classes like?
In a full class, you will experience BeMoved's Warm-Up, Genre, and Cool-Down. The Warm-Up infuses breath and movement in artistically choreographed sequences that activate core strength and balance while improving flexibility and coordination. The Genre section of class uses continuous and engaging dance combinations to inspire anyone from first-time dancers to professionals. Finally, the Cool Down brings your workout full circle, leaving you balanced in mind, body and soul – feeling rejuvenated.

Marc Kenison began his formal dance training at the Interlochen Arts Academy and went on to receive his BFA from The Juilliard School. He has danced professionally with The Jose Limon Dance Company and Tere O'Connor Dance. In 2004 he received his MFA in Acting from the University of Washington and co-founded Seattle’s Washington Ensemble Theatre. Marc is widely known as “Waxie Moon” and has performed his original work at numerous venues throughout Seattle including Key Arena, On The Boards, The Triple Door, The Seattle Rep, ACT Theatre and The Moore Theater. He has taught dance and theatre extensively including at Cornish College of the Arts, NYU, Rutgers University, The University of Washington, American University, The Academy of Burlesque and various dance and burlesque festivals worldwide. In March of 2019 he became a certified instructor in the methodology of BeMoved®.
